The Vacu-Stack works when wind blows around the stack, increasing wind speeds creates a vacuum effect. The vacuum effect pulls flue gases up and out of the chimney, preventing wind-induced downdraft, smoke, odor, and flue gas into your home. The Vacu-Stack also serves as a cap which will protect against debris, animal, rain, and snow.
